writing a literature review, thus serving as the foundational basis for a

high-quality one. To determine if the peer-reviewed research studies

identified in your literature matrix serve as a sound foundational basis for

a literature review, provide your estimate on the likelihood of it doing so.

Do this by estimating the likelihood that the collective research in

your literature matrix will help you meet the criteria for writing a

high-quality literature review as found in the course textbook,

Educational Research: Fundamental Principles and Methods (8th

ed.). More specifically, conduct this evaluation against the criteria for

evaluating the review of literature found on pages 119 126 (7th ed. 102

- 108) using the following Likert Scale: very unlikely, somewhat unlikely,

neither likely or unlikely, somewhat likely, or very likely. One or more of

the criteria might not be applicable to your evaluation, so write "N/A" if

this occurs.

Students are not graded on how many areas are evaluated as very likely, so be

objective. If you find that most criteria evaluations fall in the very unlikely or

somewhat unlikely, this is a strong indication that your research might not

support a high-quality literature review.

Evaluate the collective research in your literature matrix by creating a two-

column table with the criteria written in the left column and your evaluation in the

right column. Your table will include 10 rows. An example showing how one

would evaluate criteria number 1 is as follows:
