6. Write an artist's statement about why you picked the news event/topic you did, and discuss how

the event was discussed in the three pieces of journalism/broadcast journalism/trade, academic,

legal etc..journals you identified. Then discuss your decision to focus on the voices/perspectives you

did, and why. Minimum of 500 words

7. Please don't worry if you can't draw well. You are not graded on your artistic skill. Simple stick

figures or drawings are just as powerful as fully rendered drawings. What is important is the story

you are telling through your comic about the news event you chose to focus on. It's important to do

things outside of our comfort zone, and know you can't fail.
